I conquered another #Crossfit demon (referred to as a goat)
Up until now I have always done modified or assisted Hand Stand Push Ups (HSPU). I have nerve damage as well as cervical stenosis that severely affects my overhead strength.
Up until now, I’ve tried here and there to perform the correct movement of the HSPU, and to no avail I’d poop out or not have the strength to elevate my body up on that wall.
I decided to attempt the strict movement. My goal was to try and perform a couple strict/correct movements and finish the Rx’d reps doing assisted. Well, when I warmed up and practiced the movement…I banged out 7 reps with no effort??????/
Whaaaaaht Thaaaaaahhh???
I decided to risk going slower through the WOD and do the Rx’d movement.
I soared through them each round!!! I have no idea what happened? I don’t know if I’m finally strong enough? Or what?
I was stable on the ground, didn’t lose my hollow position.. and I didn’t fall flat on my head/face.
This crossfit stuff just works people. It just works.
I completed Saturday 120728 and set a new personal record.
